Is "water cooler talk" just idle chitchat or a hidden gem for business success? Building trust among team members lays the groundwork for seamless collaboration. When trust is strong, team members support each other, own up to mistakes, and resolve issues efficiently. This not only saves time but also prevents costly misunderstandings down the line.Take King County, Washington, for example. By prioritizing trust and leveraging tools like The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, they witnessed remarkable improvements in teamwork and productivity. A staff member from King County's Office of Risk Management Services shared how team members now readily support each other, leading to a more dynamic and effective work environment. The lesson? Water cooler conversations aren't just about hydration—they're about building connections and fostering a shared commitment to success. So, stay hydrated, nurture trust, and watch your team achieve extraordinary results!

This is so true with remote teams as well. When revising our onboarding training we implemented meet and greets. We sprinkle these casual get to know you conversations throughout our three week training. It is a great way to get to know more of your teammates especially when the whole team is remote and spread across all states and Puerto Rico! Our new hires always comment on how helpful it is for building connections and feeling part of the team.

Huge advocate for trust. I have a similar concept for these little impromptu meetings, more specifically between someone in a leadership position and their direct reports (I call them Breaking Bread). Whenever there's a time both parties are free, they just have a quick conversation (maybe in the break room or maybe they take a walk). Taking the formality out of it can make a huge difference Brett M. Cooper

Random conversations often lead to better solutions. It is why Steve Jobs insisted on the design for the main building on the Apple campus. It was set up to create random encounters of people from different departments and divisions.

Daniel and I been dedicating a lot of thought this week to balancing and rebalancing focus for our team, particularly as we tackle some major projects. It’s a complex act of aligning three key elements: delivering excellent client (in our case Partner) service, ensuring our systems are effective, and developing team skills. What we’ve been thinking about is the inter-related nature of these elements. Excellent client service relies on a capable team and efficient systems. And a well-functioning team thrives on robust systems, which in turn allow us to serve our clients at the highest level. So here’s a question for reflection: Have you ever found that emphasising one of these areas too much could disrupt the harmony of the others, and if you do see a need to emphasise one, when does that usually happen? How do you maintain the intricate balance across your team? #TeamDevelopment #ClientService #OperationalExcellence #LeadershipInsights

"Trust is critical for team success, but it’s not solely a manager’s job to build it."According to a study conducted by Ron Friedman, Ph.D., employees who gave their teams a high-performing score indicated five key behaviors that helped them build mutual trust:✅ They don’t leave collaboration to chance.✅ They keep colleagues in the loop.✅ They share credit.✅ They believe disagreements make them better.✅ They proactively address tension.Read about the study and insights here.https://lnkd.in/eKi_rg7uThanks for the insights Ron!#teambuilding #highperformance #trust

Teams don’t happen by chance. They are the product of purposeful, intentional, repeated work to bring people together and foster a deep sense of trust and connection.Too many organisations presume that sitting a group of strangers at the same desks will make a team appear. Leigh Ann Rodgers sees the fatal flaws in that process and has plenty of experience to stop that mistake from being repeated again.🎧Learn about trust, team-building, and the need for regular realignment: https://lnkd.in/eZbu7UA5#Trust #Team #Facilitation

Why is integrity important when building high-performing teams? Integrity is a trait that fosters a positive workplace culture. This culture is composed of open communication and quick decision-making based on a strong moral compass that guides all decisions and actions. If you are known for being a person of integrity, you will naturally gain the trust and respect of those around you. So, what are the qualities of a person of integrity? 1. Your actions are always consistent with your words. 2. You are always trustworthy and reliable. 3. You always communicate honestly and openly.4. You have values and your behaviors reflect those values. 5. You always admit mistakes and you are never afraid to show you care. No team can exist without trust. Teams are more likely to solve complex problems due to their collaborative relationships. Trust opens the doors for moderate risk-taking, feeling free to speak one’s mind, and allows positive emotions to emerge such as curiosity, confidence, and inspiration. These positive emotions, in turn, broaden the mind and help build a high-performing team. #integrity #traits #teambuilding #teamwork #teamdynamics #teamdevelopment #workculture #trust #companyculture #team #decisionmaking
