THE DAILY BLOVIATION
Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
Welcome to the weekend, where I woke up to discover snow - SNOW! - covering my backyard, which is a complete negation of responsibilities by Mother Nature. She was supposed to have delivered Spring by now. You know - walks outside without coats, sunshine, that sort of thing. Epic fail.
Or maybe I'm too anxious for this winter nonsense to be over. I'm increasingly losing patience with it as I get older.
I'm also losing patience with the Browns sedate off-season. It's not good for the website business as there aren't controversies for people to talk about or rumors to discuss, all of which make things a little less fun. But we'll do our best to keep things rolling here with daily features and regular live video streams, you name it. We've never worked harder, and I've never plowed a higher percentage of the income provided by your subscriptions back into the site.
Here are today's LINKS OF MODERATE INTEREST:
5. BROWNS OFFICIALLY SIGN D'ONTA FOREMAN
Browns sign RB D'Onta Foreman - (Official Site)
As the NFL has changed into a passing league, the day of the big bruising linebacker has seemingly faded, leaving the league with smaller and faster tacklers to deal with if a running back gets to the second level.
Well, if you can't outrun those defenders, maybe you can run over and through them, right? Perhaps the Browns are zigging when the defenses are zagging with Chubb and Foreman. Just a thought.
Here's the "We've officially signed Foreman" article from the Official Site.
4. ANOTHER PRO DAY INTERVIEW WITH DAWAND
What Browns OL Dawand Jones’ ongoing recovery from ‘gruesome’ injury means for OTAs - Cleveland.com
Well, we've covered every Pro Day interview with Dawand Jones we could find, including our own interview from two days ago. Cleveland.com joined the party this morning and shockingly didn't paywall it, so I might as well link it, right? Here you go.
3. JOE FLACCO ADJUSTS TO NON-BROWNSNESS
Browns Thank Joe Flacco for 'Helluva Ride' After QB Signs Colts Contract in NFL FA - (Bleacher Report)
Joe Flacco responds to Cleveland Browns decision not to re-sign him - (FOX 8)
The Cleveland media reacted more harshly to the Browns' not re-signing Joe Flacco than the quarterback himself did. In his introductory press conference with the Colts, Flacco said he was "probably a little bit (surprised), but not a ton", handling the disappointing news with surprising class for someone with such long-term exposure to Baltimore's environs.
For their part, the Cleveland Browns sent out a Xitter message thanking Flacco for his contributions.
Can we end this now?
2. BROWNS CHECK OUT A RUGBY STAR
#Browns and #Jets are bringing Welsh rugby star @LouisReesZammit in for visits. More on LRZ from our conversation at USF's pro day: https://t.co/DW6zvfSYZO https://t.co/phqEeK1Qyw

Welsh rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit to visit Browns, Jets in bid for NFL career - (PFT)
The Browns have a free extra spot in their practice spot they can use to stash an international player, so why not take a chance on a Rugby star with 4.44 speed? They and the Jets are looking at Louis Rees-Zammit for a role that might fit (running back?) with more teams lining up to check out his skill set. He's only 23, and NFL teams leave no stone unturned.
1. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO WATSON
Watson’s New Backup Aims to Be a Source of Encouragement - (Clemson Insider)
AFC North: Best moves and other free agency questions - (ESPN)
I could end the Newswire with this story every day.
Yesterday, a social media post appeared with Jameis Winston hugging Andrew Berry in his office. Behind the two, you can barely distinguish a quote from Howie Rosencrans on Berry's whiteboard.
It reads: "To win a Super Bowl, you either have to have the best players (ie Tom Brady) or make a decision that could cost you your job."
Do you want to know how much is invested by the Browns front office in Deshaun Watson? That quote says it all.
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!
